Wrapped hair is the main reason vacuum rollers stop working well. It is worth understanding why it happens, and what JONR does differently.
Why hair wraps
A spinning brush pulls hair in, but on a conventional roller that hair has nowhere to go, so it winds tighter and tighter around the bristles. Over a week or two in a shedding home, the roller becomes a solid band of hair that lifts the brush off the floor and cuts suction.
Guiding, not gathering
JONR's anti-tangle brush uses a comb-and-blade geometry. As the roller turns, hair is lifted off the bristles and guided straight into the dust bin instead of being allowed to wrap.
Because hair keeps moving into the bin, the roller stays clear and in full contact with the floor, which is what maintains cleaning performance day after day.
The effect on cleaning
A clear roller means consistent suction and coverage, and it removes the weekly job of cutting hair off the brush by hand. For most owners that is the difference between a vacuum that works and one that quietly gets worse.
Getting the most from it
Empty the bin regularly so there is room for hair to collect, run the self-cleaning cycle where your model has one, and check the roller now and then. On robot models, keeping the app maps up to date helps the vacuum spend more time on the areas that shed most.
